About Martin C. Nagel

Supportive husband, awesome dad, very organized, and a wide variety of hobbies.

Husband

My wife and I enjoy many shared hobbies, and we exploit our Disneyland Annual Passes for at least a couple of four-day trips every year.

Organized

I'm probably one of the most organized folks you'll meet. This grew from my continually growing list of interests at both home and work. We all have exactly the same amount of time in a day. The only way to fit in more things to a day, a week, or a month is to get better--more time efficient--about the things in life. I've gotten quite good at a lot of these, so much so that I've started capturing those. If I get to writing my books, one of the chapters in one of them is going to include my learnings.

Hobbies

Besides the hobby I do for a career: hiking, martial arts, and weight lifting; camping; costuming; middle eastern drumming; technology; website programming; writing about programming, shooting, views, reviews, and how-to's, and two books in the works; shooting, teaching shooting, and explaining the 2nd Amendment; and silk painting. Yeah, all active! Previously racquetball, sword fighting, and teaching sword fighting.

Professionally

I knew as a kid what I wanted to do, and since graduating with my degree in Computer Information Systems, I've gotten to go to work and get paid to do my hobby.

After a few couple-year-long computer programming jobs, I spent a couple of decades at a large chip manufacturing company, and while there I developed a passion for some things in addition to computer programming: agile project management, Emergency Response Team (ERT), ergonomics assessment and training, and office safety communications.
